Custom Comfort ClimateCare is a family-owned HVAC company that has served Barrie and Simcoe County since 1988, handling furnace and AC installation, maintenance, and repair for homeowners across the region. Local HVAC is a market where demand swings hard with the weather and every competitor is bidding on the same emergency searches, so a paid program has to do two things at once: win the urgent jobs today and keep install leads flowing between the spikes. They brought us in to turn an underperforming ads account into a consistent lead engine.
The Challenge
- Lead volume from paid search had plateaued, and the account had no way to grow without simply paying more for the same clicks.
- Promotions changed monthly, but the ads and landing pages didn't keep up, so seasonal offers ran against stale creative and generic pages.
- HVAC demand follows the weather, yet spend stayed flat through heat waves and cold snaps instead of leaning into the moments when homeowners were actually searching.
What We Did
Dedicated Promo Landing Pages on a Monthly Rotation
Every monthly promotion got its own dedicated landing page with a single offer and a single action, instead of dumping paid clicks on the homepage. We ran the rotation as a standing cadence: new offer, new page, new ad copy, every month, matched to the heating and cooling season. Those pages became the workhorse converter of the whole program.
Full-Funnel Google Ads Mix
We expanded beyond core search into Performance Max and Display, layered with Customer Match audiences built from their existing customer base, so past customers and lookalikes saw maintenance and upgrade offers while search captured the urgent demand. More of the funnel working meant search didn't have to carry the whole growth target alone.
Weather-Triggered Spend Automation
Nobody books a furnace repair on a mild day. We ran weather-triggered scripts in the account that leaned spend into cold snaps and heat waves, when HVAC intent spikes and a click is most likely to become a booked job, instead of spreading budget evenly across days that don't convert the same way.
Microsoft Ads Expansion
With the Google program converting reliably, we opened Microsoft Ads as a second search channel in front of the same local buyers, with conversion goals mirrored from the Google build. Cheaper clicks, same intent, and incremental lead volume the Google-only setup was leaving on the table.
